Stitch Pumpkins, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — orange, green and golden pumpkins sit along an old wooden shelf, wound about with trailing vines, broad leaves and bright yellow squash flowers. The natural linen-look fabric gives it a warm, rustic harvest feel. Based on artwork by Elena Bazanova.

A little stitcher's folklore: harvest folk used to say that pumpkins grown by a happy house are always the biggest. Stitchers say this is the one autumn project that is finished before the leaves are all down.

Why this kit: a rich, rustic autumn still life to bring out every harvest and Thanksgiving season. The natural fabric and warm colours make it a cosy kitchen piece.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Rustico Aida (natural linen-look), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 42 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the pumpkins first, then the yellow flowers and leaves, and finish with the wooden shelf and trailing tendrils using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 46.5×27 cm (18.3×10.6 in). A harvest picture for the kitchen or dining room and a warm autumn gift.
