Stitch Owl in a Winter Hat, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a fluffy little owl peers out with big yellow eyes from under a blue-and-gold knitted hat with ear flaps and tassels. Soft creams and blues give it a light, watercolour winter look. Based on artwork by Alena Dabrynina.

A little stitcher's folklore: owls were said to be the wisest birds of winter, and a little owl in the house kept watch over the family on long, cold nights. This one clearly came well prepared.

Why this kit: a funny, cosy design that makes everyone smile — perfect for a winter corner, a child's room or a gift for owl lovers. It's a compact piece that stitches up quickly.

Kit includes: 18-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 29 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the eyes and beak, then stitch the feathers in soft blends, and finish with the knitted hat and tassels using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 19×18.5 cm (7.5×7.3 in). A cosy winter picture to frame and a sweet gift for anyone who loves owls.

    Cutest owl you ever did see!

    Such an adorable hootie hoo. 🥰 Complete kit...not sure how about fiber that is complete wrapped around the board, but I guess at least it isn't tangled. Great shipping from Wizardi... can't wait to stitch this one up quickly.
