Stitch Spices and Herbs, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — nine sprigs of kitchen herbs are laid out in a neat grid like a botanical chart, each with its name underneath: tarragon, basil, oregano, dill, mint, parsley, bay, rosemary and thyme. Fresh greens on white Aida give it a clean, modern kitchen look.

A little stitcher's folklore: cooks used to hang rosemary by the door for remembrance and bay for protection, and thyme was said to bring courage. A kitchen with all nine, the saying goes, never has a bad meal.

Why this kit: a practical, pretty sampler for anyone who loves cooking. The grid layout lets you stitch one herb at a time — perfect for short sessions.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 19 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the herbs one by one, following the grid on the chart, then add the names in backstitch last.

Finished size: 21.5×30.5 cm (8.5×12 in). A fresh herb sampler for the kitchen wall and a lovely gift for keen cooks.
