Stitch Floral Bouquet, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — creamy yellow roses nestle among blue and lilac hydrangeas, pink blossom and sprigs of lavender, gathered into a lush bouquet against a soft sea-green wash. The colours are fresh, gentle and very summery.

A little stitcher's folklore: in the old language of flowers, yellow roses stand for friendship and hydrangeas for gratitude, so this bouquet has long been the one to give a dear friend.

Why this kit: a generous, colourful bouquet that suits any room and never wilts. The mix of rose petals and tiny hydrangea florets keeps it interesting all the way through.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 48 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the yellow roses at the heart of the bouquet, then build out through the hydrangeas and lavender, and finish with the leaves and background wash using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 32×33.5 cm (12.6×13.2 in). A fresh floral picture for the living room and a thoughtful thank-you or friendship gift.
