Stitch Santa, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a close-up portrait of Father Christmas with twinkling eyes behind his spectacles, holding a gloved finger to his lips as if to say 'shh, it's a secret', with his fluffy beard, red hat and holly glowing against a sparkling dark background. Metallic thread adds the twinkle.

A little stitcher's folklore: children are told that if they catch Santa with his finger to his lips, a surprise is already hidden somewhere in the house.

Why this kit: a striking, full-coverage Santa portrait that makes a wonderful Christmas centrepiece and a memorable family heirloom.

Kit includes: 18-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton and metallic threads in 46 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the eyes and face, then the white beard and fur, and finish with the red hat, holly and sparkling background using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 26×25 cm (10.2×9.8 in). A festive portrait to hang every Christmas and a treasured gift.
