Stitch The Birds – Winter, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — two bluebirds with rusty breasts perch on a snowy pine branch hung with pine cones, surrounded by frosty greenery in cool blues and greens.

A little stitcher's folklore: birds that stay through the winter were said to bring courage to the house, and a bluebird in the snow promised that spring would come early.

Why this kit: part of a lovely four-seasons bird series — stitch Winter alone or collect Spring and Autumn to make a set.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 40 colours, a needle, a black-and-white symbol chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the bluebirds, then the snowy branch and pine cones, and finish with the frosty needles using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 21×21 cm (8.3×8.3 in). A crisp winter bird picture to frame and a lovely gift for bird lovers.

    Well thought out kit

    I just started this kit and am pleasantly surprised by the quality. The chart is nicely printed and completely legible. The aida is of good quality. The flosses are already separated and well labelled. The long eye needle is smooth and burr free. Every thing is ready to sit and stitch. I am very pleased with this purchase and look forward to working with the kit.
