Stitch The Baby Giraffe, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a sleepy baby giraffe with big dark eyes, velvety ossicones and soft patches peeks out from a cosy pile of caramel blankets, all in warm sand and honey tones on beige Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: in African lore the giraffe is a symbol of grace and far-sightedness, and a baby giraffe is a wish for a child to grow tall and kind.

Why this kit: an adorable, calm nursery piece in soft neutral tones — lovely for a new baby's room.

Kit includes: 16-count beige Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 39 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the eyes and nose, then the patterned fur and ears, and finish with the blanket folds using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 35×25 cm (13.8×9.8 in). A gentle nursery picture and a sweet gift for a new baby.

    So beautiful. And this particular cross stitch comes with the thread separated and wrapped around cardboard and labeled with their corresponding chart symbol. So cool! I have never seen this before. I look forward to working on it.
