Stitch Morning in a Pine Forest, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a reproduction of the famous painting by Ivan Shishkin: a mother bear and her cubs play on a fallen pine tree in a misty forest, with golden morning light filtering between the tall trunks.

A little stitcher's folklore: Shishkin painted the forest but asked his friend Konstantin Savitsky to paint the bears — and the picture became one of the best-loved paintings in Russia, even appearing on sweet wrappers.

Why this kit: a famous, much-loved painting in thread — a large, satisfying project for art and nature lovers.

Kit includes: 18-count ivory Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 37 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the bears and the fallen tree, then the tall pine trunks, and finish with the misty light and background using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 53.5×35.5 cm (21.1×14 in). A classic painting for the living room and a wonderful gift for art lovers.
