Christmas Deer Winter Reindeer Counted Cross Stitch Kit by Luca-S B598L

Stitch Christmas Deer, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a gentle reindeer with tall branching antlers turns towards you through falling snow, a garland of holly and red berries around its neck and a big red bow at its chest. Soft greys, creams and warm browns give the fur a lovely, lifelike texture. Based on artwork by Ala Badsar.

A little stitcher's folklore: in northern tales, the first reindeer to shake the snow from its antlers on Christmas morning brings good luck to the house that sees it. Stitchers say this one has already brought its holly for the front door.

Why this kit: a festive design that isn't all Santa and presents — elegant enough to stay up long after Christmas. The detailed fur and antlers are a treat for stitchers who love animal portraits.

Kit includes: 18-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 53 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the face and eyes first, then the holly garland and bow, and build up the antlers and fur using the symbol chart. The snowy background is worked last in soft, speckled colours.

Finished size: 21×30 cm (8.27×11.81 in). A winter portrait to frame for the festive season and a lovely gift for animal lovers.
