Stitch Balloons over Sunset Cove, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S Gold Collection — colourful hot air balloons drift across a golden sunset sky above a lighthouse, a cliff-top cottage and a rocky cove where the waves break in white foam, with flowers blooming along the shore.

A little stitcher's folklore: sailors said a red sky at night was a shepherd's delight — and a sky full of balloons at sunset, stitchers say, is a stitcher's delight.

Why this kit: a joyful, colourful seascape from the Luca-S Gold Collection with 62 colours, perfect for an experienced stitcher looking for a showpiece.

Kit includes: 18-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 62 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the balloons and the bright centre of the sunset, then the lighthouse and cottage, and finish with the sea and rocks using the chart one page at a time.

Finished size: 42×34 cm (16.5×13.4 in). A bright coastal showpiece for the living room and a wonderful gift for travellers.
