Stitch Enchanted Cottage, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S Gold Collection — a little white cottage nestles by a sparkling blue lake at the foot of misty mountains, framed by great leafy trees, with a meadow of wildflowers and mossy rocks in the foreground.

A little stitcher's folklore: country tales say a cottage by still water is protected by the spirits of the lake, who keep it warm in winter and cool in summer.

Why this kit: a large, peaceful showpiece from the Luca-S Gold Collection with 70 colours — a real heirloom project for experienced stitchers.

Kit includes: 18-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 70 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Begin with the cottage and lake, then the big trees, and finish with the wildflowers, rocks and mountain sky, working one chart page at a time.

Finished size: 54×41 cm (21.3×16.1 in). A tranquil landscape for the living room and a treasured gift for nature lovers.
