Stitch Saint Mary and the Child, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S Gold Collection — the Virgin Mary, with a soft golden halo, gazes tenderly at the sleeping baby Jesus in her arms, while the Star of Bethlehem shines over a distant town in the deep blue night. Based on artwork by Alan Lathwell.

A little stitcher's folklore: an old Christmas tradition says a picture of the Madonna and Child by the door blesses everyone who enters the home during the holy season.

Why this kit: a beautiful, reverent Nativity portrait from the Luca-S Gold Collection with 64 colours — a true heirloom piece for Christmas.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida with a printed counting grid (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 64 colours, 2 needles, a needle threader, a black-and-white symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the faces and hands, then Mary's robes and the baby's blanket, and finish with the starry sky and town using the black-and-white chart.

Finished size: 29×40 cm (11.4×15.7 in). A treasured Christmas heirloom and a meaningful gift for family.
