Stitch Lamp, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — an old galvanised lantern stands between two vintage metal jugs, one filled with pink tulips and the other with a bunch of dried pink flowers and grasses. Soft greys and pinks give it a calm, farmhouse feel.

A little stitcher's folklore: a lantern left in the window was once a sign that the family was home and visitors were welcome. Stitchers say this one never needs lighting.

Why this kit: a stylish, gentle still life that suits a country kitchen or hallway, and a lovely match for the other jug designs in the series.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 30 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the jugs and lantern first in soft greys, then the pink tulips and dried flowers, and finish with the small details using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 21×19 cm (8.3×7.5 in). A farmhouse-style still life for the kitchen and a thoughtful gift.
