Stitch Bouquet with Roses, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a bunch of soft pink roses and buds fills an old galvanised watering jug decorated with a little bird, in gentle greys, pinks and greens on white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: country brides once carried roses picked from the garden in a metal jug, for luck and a home full of flowers.

Why this kit: a small, pretty farmhouse floral that stitches up quickly and looks lovely in a narrow frame.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 24 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the pink roses first, then the leaves, and finish with the jug and its bird motif using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 10×16 cm (3.9×6.3 in). A pretty little still life for the kitchen or bedroom and a sweet gift.
