Stitch Bouquet with Lavender, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a tall bunch of purple lavender, wheat ears and dried grasses stands in an old galvanised jug with a little bird on the side, in soft purples, golds and greys.

A little stitcher's folklore: lavender tucked into the linen cupboard was said to bring calm to the house and sweet dreams to everyone in it.

Why this kit: a calm, rustic floral in a tall, slim shape — lovely for a bathroom, bedroom or country kitchen.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 30 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the lavender spikes first, then the wheat and grasses, and finish with the grey jug and bird motif using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 8×16 cm (3.1×6.3 in). A rustic little still life to frame and a thoughtful gift.
