Stitch The Poppies, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — bold red poppies with black centres rise from dark stems against splashes of grey and black ink, in a striking modern style on fine white evenweave. Based on artwork by Vasile Diviza.

A little stitcher's folklore: poppies are the flower of remembrance and of sleep, and a red poppy was once pinned inside a coat to bring a safe journey home.

Why this kit: a dramatic, contemporary floral with only 18 colours and an easy rating (2 out of 5) — a stylish step onto 25-count evenweave.

Kit includes: 25-count white Zweigart Lugana evenweave, Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 18 colours, 2 needles, a black-and-white symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the red petals first, then the black centres and stems, and finish with the grey ink splashes using the black-and-white chart.

Finished size: 26×38 cm (10.2×15 in). A statement floral for a modern room and a striking gift.

    This kit is gorgeous. The quality of the tread and fabric is really nice, the colors are super vibrant. This is my first project on 25 count fabric, so I'm a little nervous, but really excited too. Shipping was fast as always, this is my favorite shop for cross stitch kits
