A little stitcher's folklore: peonies are the flower of good fortune and a happy marriage, and a bunch of them was traditionally given on a twelfth wedding anniversary.

Why this kit: a romantic, painterly floral that brings a summer garden inside and makes a lovely anniversary gift.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 48 colours, a needle, a black-and-white symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the deepest pink centres of each peony, then work out to the pale petals, and finish with the buds and leaves using the chart.

Finished size: 29×22 cm (11.4×8.7 in). A romantic floral for the bedroom or living room and a lovely gift.
