Stitch Beauty, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a romantic vintage sampler of pretty things: stacked teacups, a straw hat with a blue bow, a flower-filled envelope, macarons, perfume bottles, a key and padlock, candlesticks, gloves, high heels, a handbag and a sleeping cat, all within a pink ornate border.

A little stitcher's folklore: old ladies' samplers were filled with their favourite things, so every stitch told a little story about the one who made it.

Why this kit: a charming, feminine sampler with 48 colours on fine 18-count Aida — lots of small motifs make it fun to stitch.

Kit includes: 18-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 48 colours, a needle, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions (a QR code inside also gives you a digital PDF of the pattern). A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch one motif at a time, starting with the flower envelope in the centre, then the smaller treasures, and finish with the pink border using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 24×33 cm (9.4×13 in). A charming sampler for a bedroom or dressing room and a lovely gift.
