Stitch Spring Garden, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — two little children sit on a bench beside a heart-carved wooden birdhouse, framed by a washing line of tiny dresses, lavender pots, watering cans, yellow wellies, bluebirds and blossoms.

A little stitcher's folklore: it was said that if children build a birdhouse in spring, the first bird to nest in it brings a year of happiness to the garden.

Why this kit: a sweet, detailed spring sampler with 58 colours — full of charming little motifs to enjoy stitching one by one.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 58 colours, 2 needles, a needle threader, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the children and birdhouse, then the pots, boots and watering cans, and finish with the birds, flowers and washing line using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 27×37 cm (10.6×14.6 in). A cheerful spring picture for the kitchen or a child's room and a lovely gift for gardeners.
