Stitch The Tree of Love, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a heart-shaped topiary tree dotted with little orange flowers and tied with a pale blue bow grows from a galvanised pot, with a songbird on top and a butterfly nearby.

A little stitcher's folklore: lovers once planted a tree together on their wedding day, believing their love would grow as long as the tree did.

Why this kit: a sweet, romantic design with 44 colours at an intermediate level.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 44 colours, 2 needles, a needle threader, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the bird and bow, then the leafy heart, and finish with the trunk and pot using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 18×31 cm (7.1×12.2 in). A lovely wedding or anniversary gift and a sweet picture for the bedroom.
