Stitch Dream Before Love, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — three green glass mason jars labelled Dream, Believe and Love overflow with sunflowers, golden roses, a crimson peony, a creamy garden rose, white daisies and tiny pink blossoms, with two orange butterflies settling on the petals.

A little stitcher's folklore: stitchers say the words you stitch stay with you longer than the ones you write — which makes this a happy little reminder for any wall.

Why this kit: a fresh, cheerful floral with an uplifting message, 49 colours and a compact size that is easy to finish and frame.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida in white (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 49 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch lines and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Work one chart page at a time, starting with the flowers and butterflies, then the jars and their lettering, and finish with the soft shadows beneath them.

Finished size: 29×23 cm (11.3×9.1 in). A bright piece for the kitchen, bedroom or office and a thoughtful gift for a friend who needs a little encouragement.
