Stitch Holiday Magic, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S Gold Collection — a bay horse with a holly garland on its bridle leans over a snowy wooden fence hung with a Christmas wreath and red bow, with a red barn and a cardinal behind.

A little stitcher's folklore: country folk said that at midnight on Christmas Eve the farm animals kneel in the stable — and the horses are the first to bow.

Why this kit: a festive, country-style Christmas portrait from the Gold Collection with 54 colours, on Aida with a printed grid to help counting.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida with a printed counting grid (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 54 colours, 2 needles, a needle threader, a black-and-white symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Work one chart page at a time, starting with the horse's eye and face, then the mane and garland, and finally the fence, wreath and snowy barn.

Finished size: 29×43 cm (11.4×16.9 in). A festive country picture for the hallway and a lovely Christmas gift for horse lovers.

Quality is fabulous! So pleased, the horse looks like my Casey who I lost in 2017 when he got sick at 22. He was mine for 21 years. The barn in the back is similar to mine with a large white pine next to it.
