Stitch Golden Flight, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S Gold Collection — a mallard drake with an emerald head takes off low over the water, wings spread wide above golden reeds and a soft, misty marsh.

A little stitcher's folklore: country folk watched the flight of wild ducks to tell when the weather would turn.

Why this kit: a lifelike, painterly bird study from the Gold Collection with 61 colours — a rewarding project for experienced stitchers.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida with a printed counting grid (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 61 colours, 2 needles, a needle threader, a black-and-white symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Work one chart page at a time, starting with the duck's head and wings, then the reeds, and finally the water and misty background.

Finished size: 33×25 cm (13×9.8 in). A classic country picture for the study and a fine gift for bird lovers.
