A little stitcher's folklore: country folk say a bird singing on a branch outside your window brings good news before the day is out.

Why this kit: a tiny, beginner-friendly project with just 22 colours — the perfect first kit or a quick gift.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 22 colours, a needle, a white oval embroidery hoop (11.5×15 cm), a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. The hoop doubles as a ready-made frame.

Start with the bird's orange breast and eye, then the grey wings, and finish with the twig and leaves using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 8×10.5 cm (3.1×4.1 in). A sweet little hoop and a perfect first kit.
