Stitch The Tropical Parrot, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a brilliant red, blue and green macaw perches inside a wreath of tropical flowers and leaves in hot pinks, oranges and greens. The design fits a round hoop that's included, so it's ready to hang as soon as you finish.

A little stitcher's folklore: parrots were once kept as symbols of good fortune and happy chatter, and a parrot picture in the house was said to keep the conversation lively.

Why this kit: a bright, joyful design that comes with its own hoop to frame it — no extra framing needed.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 44 colours, a needle, a white round embroidery hoop (20.5 cm), a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. The hoop doubles as a ready-made frame.

Start with the parrot, then the flowers and leaves of the wreath, and finish with the backstitch details using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 17×16 cm (6.7×6.3 in). A bright hoop art piece ready to hang and a cheerful gift.
