Stitch Abalone Pearl Peony, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a single peony glows on black Aida in shimmering pinks, corals, turquoise and blue, like the inside of an abalone shell, framed by dark green leaves. It comes with an oval hoop, ready to hang when finished.

A little stitcher's folklore: abalone shells were treasured for their rainbow shimmer and said to bring calm and good luck — this peony borrows their magic.

Why this kit: a dramatic, jewel-bright floral that stands out beautifully on black fabric — and the hoop means no framing needed.

Kit includes: 18-count black Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 34 colours, a needle, a white oval embroidery hoop (18×23 cm), a black-and-white symbol chart and instructions. The hoop doubles as a ready-made frame.

Stitch the brightest pink and turquoise petals first, then the deeper shades, and finish with the leaves; a light cloth on your lap helps you see the black fabric.
