Stitch The Border Collie, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a dark-coated Border Collie with soft feathered ears and warm amber eyes looks straight at you from misty watercolour washes. The design fits the woodgrain oval hoop included in the kit, ready to hang when you finish.

A little stitcher's folklore: shepherds say a Border Collie can read a flock with one look, and a collie by the fire means no lamb will ever be lost.

Why this kit: a soulful portrait of a clever, loyal breed, with its own woodgrain oval hoop — a perfect gift for collie owners.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 40 colours, 2 needles, a woodgrain oval embroidery hoop (22×27 cm), a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. The hoop doubles as a ready-made frame.

Start with the amber eyes and nose, then the dark coat and feathered ears, and finish with the watercolour washes using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 17×20 cm (6.7×7.9 in). A soulful hoop art portrait ready to hang and a lovely gift for dog lovers.
