Stitch The Cupcakes, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — two golden cupcakes in lilac paper cases are topped with swirls of pink icing and sugar roses, with rosy watercolour splashes around them. The small round hoop is included, so it's ready to hang as soon as it's finished.

A little stitcher's folklore: bakers say a kitchen with something sweet on the shelf is never lonely, and a cupcake shared is a friendship made.

Why this kit: a sweet, quick hoop project with 32 colours — perfect for a kitchen wall or a gift for a keen baker.

Kit includes: 18-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 32 colours, 2 needles, a white round embroidery hoop (17 cm), a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. The hoop doubles as a ready-made frame.

Start with the pink sugar roses, then the cupcake sponge and paper cases, and finish with the watercolour splashes using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 12×12 cm (4.7×4.7 in). A sweet hoop art piece for the kitchen and a lovely gift for bakers.
