A little stitcher's folklore: wolves mate for life, and in northern lore a pair of wolves stood guard over the forest and all who sheltered in it.

Why this kit: a striking, romantic wildlife portrait with 37 colours at an intermediate level.

Kit includes: 16-count antique white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 37 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the wolves' eyes and noses, then the thick grey fur, and finish with the autumn grasses and pines using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 25×32 cm (9.8×12.6 in). A striking wildlife picture for the study or living room and a meaningful gift for a couple.
