Northern Lights Cross Stitch Bookmark Kit Set of 6 by Wizardi F07AM12-7-SQ012

Stitch northern lights bookmarks, a cross stitch bookmark kit set of 6 by Wizardi: six night-sky panels where the aurora ripples in emerald, teal and violet over snowy peaks, pine forests and still lakes reflecting the glow.

A little stitcher's folklore: in the far north it was said that the lights are spirits dancing, and whistling at them makes them dance faster.

Why this kit: if you dream of seeing the aurora, these glowing skies bring it to your bedside table.

In the box: six bookmark panels pre-printed on 14 count Aida, cotton embroidery floss in every colour, a pattern chart, 6 needles, a needle threader, a small pair of scissors and self-adhesive felt to back the finished bookmarks. Not included: a hoop, which is optional for such a narrow piece.

How to stitch: thread a needle with two strands of floss and work the full cross stitches over the printed colours, checking the chart as you go; the print shows you where every stitch belongs, so there is no counting from the edge. When a bookmark is finished, trim it and press the felt backing on to cover the back and keep it neat inside a book.

A quick, relaxing project for beginners and experienced stitchers alike, and a thoughtful gift for book lovers, book club friends and teachers; stitch the six bookmarks to keep or give away one by one.
