Create Squirrel with this Charivna Mit beadwork kit — an amber-and-orange squirrel figure with a large plush faceted-bead tail, embroidered ear tufts, and a tiny beaded acorn charm dangling from its paws.
Why this kit: the felt pieces create a soft dimensional finish; the templates and stitch guide make the project approachable; the finished ornament or hoop art is easy to display or give as a handmade gift.
Kit includes: instruction chart, color pattern, Preciosa beads in 14 colors (5 sizes), Crystal Art beads in 7 colors, gimp, felt, fastener, and a needle (cardboard backing, beading thread, and glue are needed but sold separately). Made in Ukraine.
Bead embroidery is worked by following the color scheme and stitching each bead onto the felt base in the indicated position and shade, building up texture and shine bead by bead, then mounting the piece onto cardboard for a firm base. Once complete, attach the brooch pin to wear or gift.
Finished size: 6x6 cm (2.36x2.36 in). A lively beadwork project and a cheerful handmade gift for a squirrel or woodland-animal lover.

Almost complete
Just working on the finishing edge beading. Really enjoyed this, first time doing a brooch. Completed Golden Lights Ar-787 in January.
