Bead-embroider Horse with this Charivna Mit beadwork kit — a horse's head in profile, its face built from white and gray seed beads and a flowing mane rendered in cream pearls, silver bugle beads, and clear rhinestones.

Why this kit: the felt pieces create a soft dimensional finish; the templates and stitch guide make the project approachable; the finished ornament or hoop art is easy to display or give as a handmade gift.

Kit includes: instruction chart, color pattern, Preciosa beads in 8 colors (6 sizes), Crystal Art beads in 3 colors, gimp, rhinestone chain, felt, fastener, and a needle (cardboard backing, beading thread, and glue are needed but sold separately). Made in Ukraine.

Bead embroidery is worked by following the color scheme and stitching each bead onto the felt base in the indicated position and shade, building up texture and shine bead by bead, then mounting the piece onto cardboard for structure. Once complete, attach the brooch pin to wear or gift.

Finished size: 5x7 cm (1.97x2.76 in). An elegant beadwork project and a refined handmade gift for a horse lover or equestrian enthusiast.

    I had no idea this was a Russian kit and the instructions would be in Cyrillic. They are also in English, but not all that clear. I have 25 years of beading experience and bead embroidery is my specialty, so I'll figure it out with the aid of the photograph!
