Stitch Village Landscape, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a white cottage with a red-tiled roof sits among blossoming gardens and tall trees, a little wooden footbridge crossing a stream in front and a sunny country lane winding past the farm buildings.

A little stitcher's folklore: country people used to say that a house by running water never runs short of luck. Stitchers say this one has plenty to spare.

Why this kit: a peaceful, sunny countryside scene that brings a breath of fresh air into any room, with plenty of variety to keep a big project interesting.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 50 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Begin with the cottage and bridge, then work outward into the gardens and trees, and finish with the sky and stream using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 46×35 cm (18.1×13.8 in). A calm country scene for the living room and a lovely gift for anyone who dreams of the countryside.
