Stitch Winter Landscape, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a snow-covered cottage with glowing windows nestles among tall snowy firs, a little stone bridge crossing a frozen stream in front and a pink winter sky behind.

A little stitcher's folklore: country folk said that a lamp lit in the window on a snowy night guides every traveller safely home. This cottage clearly keeps its lamps burning.

Why this kit: a cosy, classic winter scene that can hang from the first frost to the end of February. The snowy textures and warm windows are lovely to stitch.

Kit includes: 18-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 55 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the cottage and its lit windows, then the bridge and stream, and finish with the snowy trees and sky using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 47×34 cm (18.5×13.4 in). A cosy winter scene for the living room and a thoughtful Christmas gift.
