Stitch Venice, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — gondolas glide along a busy canal beneath a stone bridge, with cafés, balconies full of flowers and the domes of St Mark's Basilica rising in the distance. A wide, richly detailed panorama of the floating city.

A little stitcher's folklore: Venetians say that couples who kiss under a bridge in a gondola at sunset will be together for ever.

Why this kit: a spectacular panoramic city scene with 61 colours — a true showpiece for experienced stitchers and lovers of Italy.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 61 colours, 2 needles, a black-and-white symbol chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Work from one side of the panorama, starting with the gondolas and bridge, then the buildings, and finally the sky and water reflections, one chart page at a time.

Finished size: 58×30 cm (22.8×11.8 in). A stunning Venice panorama for the living room and a wonderful gift for travellers.
