Stitch Santa Fishing, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — Santa sits in a little red rowing boat on a calm winter river, fishing rod in hand, with a snowy stone bridge, frosty trees and glowing cottages behind him in soft lilac and pink winter light. Based on artwork by Richard Macneil.

A little stitcher's folklore: even Santa needs a day off, they say — and the first fish he catches after Christmas brings luck to anglers all year.

Why this kit: a charming, unusual Christmas design that fishermen and their families will love.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida with a printed counting grid (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 45 colours, 2 needles, a black-and-white symbol chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with Santa and the red boat, then the bridge and cottages, and finish with the river reflections and snowy trees using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 22×32 cm (8.7×12.6 in). A fun winter picture and the perfect Christmas gift for an angler.
