Stitch The Country House, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a winding earth path leads through a cottage garden bursting with purple foxgloves, red poppies and orange marigolds to a whitewashed cottage with a tiled roof, framed by tall green trees.

A little stitcher's folklore: country folk say a garden path that bends is the luckiest kind — it keeps trouble from walking straight to your door.

Why this kit: a warm, painterly cottage garden with 56 colours, stitched on Aida with a printed grid that makes counting easier.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida with a printed counting grid (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 56 colours, a needle, a black-and-white symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the cottage and path, then the bright flower borders, and finish with the trees and sky using the black-and-white chart.

Finished size: 30×30 cm (11.8×11.8 in). A cosy countryside picture for the living room and a lovely gift for gardeners.
