Stitch Copenhagen, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a row of tall, colourful canal houses in red, orange, teal and ochre lines the water, with autumn trees, moored wooden boats and bright reflections rippling below.

A little stitcher's folklore: Danes say the colourful houses of the old harbour were painted so every sailor could spot his own home from the sea.

Why this kit: a vibrant city scene with 56 colours — a lovely souvenir-style piece for travellers and lovers of Scandinavia.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 56 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the house fronts and windows, then the trees and boats, and finish with the water reflections using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 30×24 cm (11.8×9.4 in). A colourful city picture for the hallway or study and a great gift for travellers.
