Stitch Moments of Longing, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a mother with soft auburn hair holds her little one close, cheek to cheek, with a blush pink rose in the foreground and gentle pink watercolour washes around them.

A little stitcher's folklore: it's said a mother's hug holds more warmth than any fire, and a picture of one keeps that warmth in the home forever.

Why this kit: a tender, heartfelt portrait with 49 colours — a beautiful gift for a new mother or for Mother's Day.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 49 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the faces, then the hair and clothes, and finish with the rose and pink washes using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 25×25 cm (9.8×9.8 in). A tender picture for the nursery or bedroom and a heartfelt gift for a mother.
