Stitch Christmas Farmhouse Kitchen, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S Gold Collection — a cosy red and cream country kitchen decked with 'Noel' bunting, garlands and poinsettias, with a warm range cooker, a dresser of plates, a dog asleep on the floor and a cat on the worktop. Based on artwork by Richard Macneil.

A little stitcher's folklore: the kitchen was always the heart of a country Christmas, and it's said the pudding stirred there on Stir-up Sunday brings a year of good luck.

Why this kit: a warm, richly detailed festive interior with 62 colours, on Aida with a printed grid to help counting.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida with a printed counting grid (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 62 colours, 2 needles, a needle threader, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Work one chart page at a time, starting with the pets and range, then the dresser and window, and finally the garlands and decorations.

Finished size: 47×32 cm (18.5×12.6 in). A cosy Christmas heirloom for the kitchen and a treasured festive gift.
