Stitch Garden Corner, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a jug of orange marigolds sits on a blue painted chair beneath a cottage window, surrounded by cream roses, pink blossom and pots of summer flowers. Based on artwork by Peter McGowan.

A little stitcher's folklore: country folk say every garden needs a corner where you can sit and do nothing at all — that's where the magic happens.

Why this kit: a peaceful, painterly garden scene with 59 colours, on Aida with a printed grid that makes counting easier.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida with a printed counting grid (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 59 colours, a needle, a black-and-white symbol chart and instructions (a QR code inside also gives you a digital PDF of the pattern). A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the jug and blue chair, then the orange marigolds, and finish with the cream roses and blossom using the black-and-white chart.

Finished size: 27×36.5 cm (10.6×14.4 in). A peaceful garden picture for the conservatory or living room and a lovely gift for gardeners.
