Stitch Forest Animals, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a woodland sampler with a red fox curled among wildflowers, two bunnies, a squirrel, a hedgehog under toadstools, a badger, a little bird, a frog, butterflies, pine cones and sprigs of greenery.

A little stitcher's folklore: old woodland tales say the animals of the forest gather once a year to share their news — and here they all are.

Why this kit: a charming sampler with 57 colours — lots of small motifs make it fun to stitch and perfect for a nursery.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 57 colours, a needle, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions (a QR code inside also gives you a digital PDF of the pattern). A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch one animal at a time, starting with the fox, then the other creatures, and finish with the butterflies and plants using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 30×36 cm (11.8×14.2 in). A charming woodland picture for a nursery or child's room and a lovely gift.
