Stitch Tenderness, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a mother fox nuzzles her cub nose to nose among golden wildflowers and slender grasses, their russet coats glowing in a soft watercolour style.

A little stitcher's folklore: in folklore the fox is clever, but a mother fox is said to be the most devoted parent in the whole forest.

Why this kit: a tender, heart-warming design with just 36 colours — a lovely gift for a new mother or a fox lover.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 36 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions (a QR code inside also gives you a digital PDF of the pattern). A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the foxes' faces and eyes, then the russet fur, and finish with the golden flowers and grasses using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 22×22 cm (8.7×8.7 in). A tender picture for a nursery or living room and a lovely gift.
