A little stitcher's folklore: poppies woven into the hair were once a charm for sweet dreams and a heart free from sorrow.

Why this kit: a dramatic, modern portrait with only 35 colours on antique white Aida — striking yet manageable to stitch.

Kit includes: 16-count antique white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 35 colours, a needle, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions (a QR code inside also gives you a digital PDF of the pattern). A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the face and eyes, then the red poppies, and finish with the hair and paint drips using the partially coloured chart.
