Stitch Chickadees On The Fence, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — three plump little chickadees with black caps and soft buff bellies sit shoulder to shoulder on an old wooden fence, framed by trailing autumn leaves.

A little stitcher's folklore: chickadees are known as the friendliest birds in the garden, and three together were said to bring luck to the whole family.

Why this kit: a sweet, cosy bird design with 47 colours — a quick stitch and a lovely gift for bird watchers.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 47 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions (a QR code inside also gives you a digital PDF of the pattern). A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the chickadees' black caps and eyes, then their soft feathers, and finish with the fence and leaves using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 24×17.5 cm (9.4×6.9 in). A cosy bird picture for the kitchen or hallway and a sweet gift.
