Stitch Meeting With a Ladybug, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a tall mother giraffe bends her long neck down to her calf among golden grasses and seed heads, in soft warm tones on antique white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: in African lore the giraffe sees further than any other animal, and a mother giraffe was said to watch over her calf from miles away.

Why this kit: a gentle, elegant design with just 24 colours — lovely for a nursery or as a gift for a new mother.

Kit includes: 16-count antique white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 24 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions (a QR code inside also gives you a digital PDF of the pattern). A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the giraffes' faces and eyes, then the patterned coats, and finish with the grasses using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 20×29 cm (7.9×11.4 in). A gentle nursery picture and a lovely gift for a new mother.
