Stitch The Winter Sleep, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a Siamese cat curls up asleep on a red knitted blanket on the windowsill, beside a Christmas tree hung with baubles, while snow falls on a cottage outside.

A little stitcher's folklore: it's said a cat asleep by the window at Christmas is dreaming of the year's good fortune — and keeping it safe until spring.

Why this kit: a cosy, peaceful winter scene with 59 colours, on Aida with a printed grid that makes counting easier.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida with a printed counting grid (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 59 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the sleeping cat, then the red blanket and baubles, and finish with the window and snowy view using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 29×40 cm (11.4×15.7 in). A cosy winter picture for the living room and a lovely Christmas gift for cat lovers.
