Stitch Fiori Caffes, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S Gold Collection — a sunny cobbled street in an old stone town, overflowing with flower boxes and potted blooms, with red-clothed café tables and green chairs waiting for guests.

A little stitcher's folklore: Italians say a coffee taken among the flowers tastes sweeter and makes the afternoon last longer.

Why this kit: a charming Gold Collection street scene after artwork by Nicky Boehme, with 64 colours on Aida with a printed grid.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida with a printed counting grid (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 64 colours, 2 needles, a needle threader, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Work one chart page at a time, starting with the café tables and chairs, then the flower boxes, and finally the stone buildings and sky.

Finished size: 52×35 cm (20.5×13.8 in). A sunny Mediterranean picture for the kitchen or dining room and a lovely gift for travellers.
