Stitch Three Dainty Birds, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — three little wrens perch on the rims of rose-patterned china teacups set in a row, with pink roses between them.

A little stitcher's folklore: a bird at the tea table was said to mean a welcome guest would visit before the week was out.

Why this kit: a charming, panoramic design with 48 colours at an intermediate level — perfect above a kitchen shelf.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 48 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the birds, then the teacups and their rose patterns, and finish with the roses between using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 52×21 cm (20.5×8.3 in). A sweet picture for the kitchen or tea room and a lovely gift for tea lovers.
