Stitch Kittens' Sleep, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a ginger kitten and a grey tabby doze curled up in an old wooden wheelbarrow brimming with daisies, lavender and wildflowers, beside a little tin watering can.

A little stitcher's folklore: country folk said a cat asleep among the flowers means sunshine for the whole week.

Why this kit: a sweet, peaceful garden scene with 56 colours at an intermediate level.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 56 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the kittens' faces and fur, then the wheelbarrow and watering can, and finish with the flowers and meadow using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 33×30 cm (13×11.8 in). A gentle picture for the bedroom or conservatory and a lovely gift for cat lovers.
